We are delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with Glasgow Schools’ FA for another year as we look ahead to an exciting 2023 calendar.
The renewed partnership will see Trans World Educational Experiences (Twedex) work with member schools to provide travel and tournament services across the UK and Europe.
As Official Logistics Partner of the World School Games Event Series, we were especially pleased to see All Saints Secondary pick up the U15 trophy at the recent World Schools Football Cup, and we look forward to following the progress of all Glasgow Schools’ FA teams for the remainder of the 2022/23 season and into next.
All Saints Secondary won the U15 World Schools Football Cup in Salou earlier this year.
Rory McBride, Operations Executive at Twedex, is delighted to continue the relationship with Glasgow Schools’ FA and he is looking forward to a prosperous 2023.
“We have had a great connection with Glasgow School’s FA for a number of years now and it is great to be going into the new year as partners once again.
“After the successes of All Saints Secondary in Barcelona earlier this year wea re really excited to see what 2023 has in store for the many great Glasgow schools and can’t wait to work with them all going forward.”
Everyone at Twedex wishes the players, teachers and coaches of all Glasgow Schools’ FA members the very best of luck for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

The Twedex Group were delighted to pick up a Silver Award for ‘Best Sports Event Organisers’ at the Sports Industry Awards (Asia) presented by TikTok and hosted at W Dubai – The Palm on Wednesday 26th May.
With lots of very impressive events taking place in the region over the last 18 months we are incredibly proud to have been recognised as one of the leading providers in the industry.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, director Andrew Cook says the award shows the dedication and hard work which has taken place throughout the business over the last year and thanked the schools and venues for their support during a difficult period with Covid restrictions.
“We are really thankful that we’ve been recognised with this award. We aim to provide young people with sports events that they can use as inspiration in their school and sporting life and it’s nice to have been rewarded in this way.
“Covid restrictions have put the brakes on competitive school sport this academic year and we are hopeful that we are now looking forward to a return to normality after the summer holidays.
“Our team at Twedex have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that when the world is safe enough to organise international events we are ready to go again.
Below is a summary of the events which led to the recent award:
1. U11 & U13 World School Games (Dubai – January & February 2019 – 36 schools from 14 countries) 2. BSME Games (4 x events during 2019 – all in GCC – 64 schools from around the GCC) 3. World Schools Netball Cup (Loughborough – June 2019 – 40 schools from 8 countries) 4. World School Basketball Championships (New York University Abu Dhabi – December 2019 – 20 schools from around the GCC) 5. World Schools Football Cup (Barcelona – October 2019 – 38 schools from 8 countries)
With relationships built over a number of years it has been strange not seeing the students and staff over the last 12 months but we have been really impressed by the ways schools have adapted to the new circumstances they’ve found themselves in.
“We have been supported immensely by the schools and venues we work with on a regular basis and we’ve tried to keep in touch with everyone over the last year to ensure that we are supporting each other as much as possible in difficult circumstances.
“Hopefully with the continued success of the vaccine rollout across the world we will be welcoming young sports people to our events in the near future.”

Trans World Educational Experiences (Twedex) was today unveiled as Global Travel Partner of The World Schools Games Event Series in 2019.
The World School Games Event Series will see schools from across the globe compete in a range of sports competitions at various age categories, in a quest to unearth the World Champions of school sport. With the flagship World School Games event, staged annually in Dubai, set for expansion in 2019 to 48 schools competing at separate U11 and U13 events in athletics, swimming and football, the introduction of the Event Series aims to broaden the scope of competitive school sport on the world stage.
The world’s number one University for sport, Loughborough (UK), was last week announced as the host venue for the inaugural World Schools Netball Cup in June. The World Schools Football Cup will be staged in Barcelona (Spain) in October, as well as The World Schools Rugby Cup and The World Schools Cricket Cup in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
Scott Macfarlane, of Twedex, is privileged to be involved in the expansion of one of the most exciting youth sports competitions in the world.
“The World School Games Event Series provides a unique stage for the world’s best school athletes to compete with and against each other, in a fun and competitive series of events, at truly world class facilities. At Twedex we are always looking for innovative ways to give young people the best sports travel opportunities possible. It’s the perfect fit.”
“We’re very proud to work in collaboration with The World School Games and will use our organisation’s skillset to enhance the travel and logistics experience of the travelling teams for each event in 2019.”
Adam Kerr, of The World School Games, is delighted to team up with Twedex ahead of a hugely exciting year for both organisations.
“To have secured the services of Twedex as Global Travel Partners is a terrific coup for The World School Games. Over 5,000 athletes from more than 40 countries will take part in a World School Games event in 2019. The travel and logistics at global events require a huge amount of expertise and planning, and our expansion in 2019 will mean we have more athletes than ever travelling across the world to take part in our events.”

Wick High School and Thurso High School made history this week as they became the first ever Trans World groups to tour Atlético Madrid’s new Wanda Metropolitano home.
The 68,000-seater stadium opened for matches in mid-September, but the all-access tour was only launched this week meaning that the students and staff from Wick and Thurso were among the very first members of the public to go behind the scenes.
The tour takes in the brand-new press conference rooms, the dressing rooms and players tunnel. It gives groups the chance to follow in the footsteps of some of the biggest names in world football and take a seat in Diego Simeone’s dugout.
Michael Pentland, Regional Manager of Trans World Educational Experiences, said he was delighted to be able to give the schools the opportunity to be the very first group to witness the wonders of the Metropolitano.
“We are so proud to be able to give students the chance to get up close and personal with the biggest clubs in the world. Atlético have done a tremendous job of creating a behind-the-scenes tour which truly encapsulates what life is like as a player here at the Metropolitano and its brilliant that the students from Wick and Thurso have been among the first to experience it.”
“We are lucky to have a close relationship with the club which has allowed us to give Wick and Thurso access to the tour before any other group. It was certainly one of the highlights of an action-packed trip and something which we hope the students will remember for a long time.”
The schools were in Madrid as part of a Spanish Football Development tour with Trans World which included training sessions at Real Madrid’s first-team training complex, challenge matches against local opposition, a visit to the headquarters of the Spanish FA and a trip to the Santiago Bernabéu to watch Zinedine Zidane’s side put three goals past Eibar without reply.
