From its humble beginning in 1939, the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens has evolved into the world’s largest school rugby tournament with some 7,000 boys and girls aged 13 – 18 competing annually.
Now in its tenth year, the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival has established itself as one of the best and most international youth rugby festivals for clubs and school teams in Europe. Renowned for its flawless organisation, this is a highly competitive tournament in a stunning destination.
The Villager Sevens is the brainchild of Dave Stewart, the iconic Springbok fly half of the 1960’s.
The tournament was founded to give schoolboys the chance to experience the pride of representing their school one last time before entering the world of adulthood. Since then, it has grown to become the most prestigious school rugby tournament in South Africa, attracting the biggest and best talents from a proud rugby nation, as well as several high-class international teams.
