The Twedex Foundation was proud to host our inaugural event at Emirates Golf Club on Friday 4th October as members of Dubai’s teaching community came together for a fun and competitive afternoon of padel in aid of the city’s Al Noor Training Centre.

The launch of the Foundation – which strives to use education, travel and sport as a catalyst for good – saw teachers from across Dubai join forces with members of the Twedex UAE team in a 16-pairs padel tournament with all entry monies raised going directly to the Al Noor Centre.

Based in Dubai, the Al Noor Training Centre is an educational facility for people with additional support needs which provides rehabilitation, recreation and vocational training to people of determination aged 4 to 35.

Established in 1961, the centre continues to grow and expand its support for individuals with a range of additional support needs, and the Twedex Foundation was incredibly proud to support their work through our recent padel event.

In addition to the entry fees being passed on to the centre, the Foundation tshirts and trophies were produced by students at the Al Noor Centre and we hope to continue to build a strong relationship with the students and staff in the months and years ahead.

Rhys Gorman, Twedex account manager and padel enthusiast, was proud to host teachers and school staff from across Dubai at the event and hopes the funds raised from the event will support the inspiring work being done at the Al Noor Centre.

“It was brilliant to officially launch the Twedex Foundation this month with our first in-person event at Emirates Golf Club. Padel is such a social sport which is going from strength to strength and we were delighted to see so many Dubai school staff show an interest in joining us for such a worthy cause.

“A huge thank you to Viya Padel and the team at Emirates Golf Club for being so accommodating throughout and to everyone who supported with entry fees and prizes. We are already looking forward to planning our next events so stay tuned for more information.”

Andrew Cook, Twedex co-founder and director, recently visited the Al Noor Centre to see first hand the excellent work being done by the students and staff on a daily basis.

He said: “It was a privilege to be invited to the Al Noor Centre recently to meet with the staff and students who are such an inspiration to us all.

“Every student is working hard to develop a range of practical and transferable skills and we are so pleased to be able to support them in a small way by placing orders for kit and trophies which we use for both the Twedex Foundation and the wider Trans World Educational Experiences business.

“A huge thank you to everyone at the Al Noor Centre for your warm welcome and your enthusiasm for our partnership.”
